| Scottish Inter-Club Shoot | Date added: 09/04/08 |
|
Bill Campbell (no, not ours, the Mr. Grumpy of Inverness one) has recently been in touch about this year's Inter-Club Shoot which Highland Longbows are to host. Due to Barbara's cancelled operation, and the re-scheduled date for that, there will be no free weekend that suits all the clubs until later in the season, so look forward to a wee trip up to the Inverness area sometime in the late summer or early autumn to defend our winning streak. What round will be shot has yet to be decided, but it's the host club's choice, so the wise money's on a Windsor.
This year we hope that there will be four clubs represented, as Ettrick Forest Archers will have a bit more time to practice! What this means as far as the Trophy (the big, wooden, three-sided one made by Duaine of Lorn Longbows) is concerned is still under discussion; any suggestions can be passed to the committee. |

| Club programme updated | Date added: 31/03/08 |

The club's shooting programme for April to June is now online, along with a new gallery photo from yesterday's Spring Forward Clout (courtesy of Charlie).
The final results for the Winter Combinations have also been added to the site's members-only section, which will be unleashed upon the masses whenever the Club Committee gives the Webmonkey all the materials he's still waiting for... |

| Charlie wins Captaincy, new video gallery online | Date added: 25/03/08 |
|
Photos are now online from the 2008 club captaincy, where Charlie eventually took the honours after around a dozen attempts from every archer. Thanks to Hugh and Charlie for sending in their pictures.
The club website now also sports a brand-new video gallery - as with the photo gallery, we need submissions from our members for this, so get recording! Regular visitors may also note that the site's left-hand navigation menu has been redesigned to fit better on small displays - pages such as 'Where to find us' and the shooting programme can now be found under the relevant headings on the left. |

| 2008 Come and try dates finalised | Date added: 10/03/08 |
|
The Club is going to be holding three Come and Tries for the Park this year. They will be on 4th May, 27th July (a week after the Green Hollow Clout), and 12th October. They will all be in the Walled Garden next to the Plantaria and the Visitor Centre. We will need plenty of members' help, not just to take the punters through their three arrows, but to take in their shekels, put tabs and bracers on them (and get them back off them too!) and generally help out. Remember, these fund-raising events for the Park are our way of thanking the staff at Mugdock for all their help and assistance to us over the year, so please put the dates in your "must-do" diary. |
