Today ardent traditionalist Bosco Hazard was to be seen in the field at Mugdock shooting an entire Western round using arrows with plastic nocks. This may herald the end of the club as we know it. Watch this space for further alerts and updates, and be prepared to take prompt action if required.
Official votes of censure may be tabled at the AGM next Sunday. |

Many thanks to Jim Cleland, who (despite not being a Green Hollow Member) sent in more pictures from the Spring Target Meeting than everyone else put together has sent in for all three BLBS events so far this year!
A selection of pictures are now up on the Photo Gallery (including one from Hugh, to be fair). The Webmonkey is still looking for (high-resolution) pictures, STOP PRESS: it turns out that Fede and Jay had in fact sent in a bunch of photos from the Andrew MacKay, but they hadn't made their way to the Webmonkey's desk yet. They're up on the gallery now - thanks, folks. |

| Changes to BLBS insurance cover | Date added: 26/09/08 |
| At the Society's AGM in Burnham on 20th September, the BL-BS committee announced to general satisfaction among members that the Society is adjusting its Rules of Shooting to "get back to basics". To this end, the Society will concentrate its activities on those forms of archery which the BL-BS was formed to try and preserve: two-way target and clout shooting. Our Society insurance was due for renewal this month and as of this week, the BL-BS insurance will not cover roving marks, flight or standard arrow shooting. Other than this, the insurance cover will remain as it was for bow meetings organised by the BL-BS and activities run by BL-BS affiliated clubs including come and tries and arrangements for beginners. | |

| Scottish Inter-Club Shoot | Date added: 09/04/08 |
|
Bill Campbell (no, not ours, the Mr. Grumpy of Inverness one) has recently been in touch about this year's Inter-Club Shoot which Highland Longbows are to host. Due to Barbara's cancelled operation, and the re-scheduled date for that, there will be no free weekend that suits all the clubs until later in the season, so look forward to a wee trip up to the Inverness area sometime in the late summer or early autumn to defend our winning streak. What round will be shot has yet to be decided, but it's the host club's choice, so the wise money's on a Windsor.
This year we hope that there will be four clubs represented, as Ettrick Forest Archers will have a bit more time to practice! What this means as far as the Trophy (the big, wooden, three-sided one made by Duaine of Lorn Longbows) is concerned is still under discussion; any suggestions can be passed to the committee. |
